I was born and raised in a tiny, rain soaked community on the north Oregon coast. This fact has informed and shaped my life in countless ways, and is often the first thing I come back to when I think about who I am, where I’ve been, and where I’m going.

The other thread that has always run through my life is my passion for creating. I am just now, in my late twenties, beginning to fully identify with the title of “Artist,” but for as long as I can remember I have had my hands in something; drawing, painting, writing, photographing and coloring the world around me.

After going to college, living in a variety of new places and traveling the world a bit, I have found myself back in my tiny coastal community. I am, for the first time in my adult life, pursuing art and creativity, mostly in the form of jewelry, as a source of income as well as a way of life.

This blog is about that: about attempting to make my life, in as many ways as possible, a beautiful, creative act. This is such a multi-faceted idea to me, and takes many forms. It could be the simple act of making a local, colorful, handmade meal from scratch. It is the connections we form, the community, support, inspiration, and collaboration we find with our friends, neighbors and family. It’s in how we dress, how we decorate and inhabit our dwellings, the letters we write and the music we hear, sing, and dance to.

My hope is that in writing this blog I will be able to better understand these ideas for myself, and work through some of the fears and inhibitions that are holding me back.

At the same time I want to inspire and provoke YOU to get out there and follow your own unique dream.

I believe deeply that the best way to serve the world is to fully, and without reservation, become the happiest, truest version of yourself.

Do what inspires you, what makes you feel fulfilled, and do it now.
