One of my favorite blogs these days is that of Lissa from Barnacle Bags. Lissa lives in the San Juan Islands in WA and makes amazing bags for her Etsy shop. On her blog she shares wonderful photos and tidbits about her home, work, creative process and life on a small island in the Northwest. This week she’s offering an amazing giveaway highlighting handmade gifts and featuring a pair of my earrings! I’m so elated to be featured on one of my favorite blogs, especially in such a cool giveaway. Be sure to check out her blog, and to enter to win the giveaway HERE.
I am offering a sale in my Etsy Shop this weekend in honor of the shopping extravaganza that is Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I was recently featured on my friend Socheat’s photo blog. Socheat is an amazing photographer with a unique eye and style. The photos of yours truly are part of a series she’s working on, creating portraits of people doing what they love for a living. Definitely something I can get behind;) I am so honored and humbled by her images and words. Check it out here.
I made the trip to Portland last weekend to have a girls night with some dear friends. We had a fantastic evening full of happy hour drinks, laughter, dirty jokes and…a photo booth! I absolutely LOVE photo booths and come across them infrequently, so I was ecstatic! There’s such a distinct quality to photo booth images and these are no exception. They’re now on my wall and make me smile every time I look at them. Enjoy!
As is most often the case these days, this afternoon found me at home working on new pieces, editing photos and packaging up orders. As the holidays creep closer I am trying to gear up for what I hope will be a busy season. This is my first holiday season selling jewelry full time so I’m not entirely sure what to expect. I have a lot of plans though, and I’m excited to put them into action. I am trying (and mostly succeeding) to keep a cool head and not get overwhelmed by all of the million “To-Do’s” constantly running through my head. The pile of lists on my desk is getting pretty ridiculous.
Still, I couldn’t be happier than when I’m sitting at my desk in my bright, cozy home, golden evening light streaming in the window, creating something and getting paid for it. How cool is that?!
The light was so pretty this evening I thought I’d take a few photos. Enjoy!
I know you all must just be dying to know where we went on my big birthday surprise adventure, so I figured it was about time to share some photos and stories with you!
Last week we packed up and headed East to the mountains, pines and rivers inland. All the maples were in full color and the drive was absolutely stunning. We spent a night camped on a back road and headed out in the morning to the Mckenzie River. The Mckenzie and the surrounding area is unbelievably beautiful and we spent the afternoon outside, hiking through glowing-green moss-dripping old growth forest, picking white chanterelles and fishing for beautiful leopard spotted cutthroat trout.
That evening we headed on to Breitenbush Hot Springs, one of my absolute favorite places in the world (check out this post for more about Breitenbush). We spent two days there, soaking in the hot springs, reading endlessly, napping, and generally taking it really easy. It felt great to just allow ourselves to do nothing and be a little indulgent. Over all it was a perfect birthday adventure and one I will remember for years to come. Here are a few more photos from the trip ~ Enjoy!
